Hillwood Estate is located on more than 25 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens and grounds. It boasts 24 rooms on three floors, connected by curved marble staircases. At the center of the estate stands a two-story mansion built in the French-style châteauesque style. The grounds of Hillwood Estate are composed of a greenhouse, nine sculptures, and formal gardens that showcase a variety of trees, shrubs, and flowerbeds. At Hillwood Estate, visitors can explore the treasure trove of art and artifacts left behind by Marjorie Post. The collection is impressive, featuring a mosaic iconostasis from Russia, Renaissance bronzes, Chinese porcelains and lacquers, and a distinguished collection of 18th and 19th-century French porcelains. Many of the objects in the collection are displayed in the museum galleries, which have been re-arranged to highlight certain objects and allow for greater accessibility for visitors.
